My wife and I were lucky enough to have Ivan and his wonderful crew from Avocado Cafe cater our wedding celebration recently and I can not say enough about how wonderful the experience was.
First, the food was absolutely amazing. We live in NYC and there is no Mexican food near us half as good as Avocado Cafe. The most wonderful items for us are the more traditional REAL Mexican items such as chile relleno, tamales, cactus salad. All of Ivan's food is made with real care and attention to flavor and quality.
If you are having a big party (ours was 80 people) look no further - I think you are not going to find better Mexican food anywhere in NY State and the catering staff are wonderful and incredibly sweet. -

We were very excited to find this new to us little hole in the wall Mexican eatery just outside Millerton proper as we should have had something to eat before the estate sale.
The restaurant has been around for 3 years. It is set back in a sort of oddball location within one of those large metal constructed industrial buildings.
You have to go around the opposite side of the building to park outside the space. You feel as if your driving where you shouldn't be as you go around the back of the building.
The space is quite small 2 four tops and 2 two tops all of which can be easily converted to suit the size of your party.
What struck me was all these neat cactus that have been neglected for some time which should have been an indicator.
We were really hungry and wanted to try a new eatery. The young Venezuelan lady was very pleasant and took our order at the register.
The food was edible but far from the freshness I'm accustomed to with Mexican food. Often times the added trickery of a vibrant herb garnish can excite but even the garnish was looking wilted.
Both entrees with a soda tax and tip was just under $20 which for the portion size and quality was overpriced.
I would venture to perhaps try some of their other options as we took a chance on a mole dish which can be hit or miss. -

Family of 5 looking for good food in NW CT - we found this place right near the state line and could not have been happier with the food, service and flan...good to know facts are:
1. Food is excellent
2. Location is small
3. Taco night is WEDNESDAY
4. Jarritos are stocked up and diverse in flavor
5. These guys go the extra mile to make and keep you happy
We will recommend to friends and family, and we will return on our next trip to New England. -

This is probably the best Mexican food I have had so far!! Nice restaurant behind the gym, but kind of small (holds maybe 13 people tops for sit down) but don't let it fool you! The food is outstanding! The food seasoned just right. The Nachos with chorizo was fantastic! Will definitely be going back for more!!

Stopped by on my way home from Lime Rock Park (to Kingston) to quell hunger pangs.
Very nice burrito, clean (but small) sitdown and takeout hole in the wall. It's located on the back side of the plaza, so you need to drive around and park on the east side.
Lots of choices, freshly made. I had a Michoacan burrito with Al Pastor and french fries. A bargain at $10 total, including a can of (american) soda.
